Very international picnic in the park today.
Nice shared food and conversation between Poland, Finland and Italy.

Lukasz is from Warsaw, currently studying history of architecture and art; he studied 8 years in Germany, spent his Erasmus in Bologna and traveled all around Italy, he's also a professional guide in his hometown.
He's a great traveler: Helsiki was the last stop of his trip; he left Warsaw and has been first to Vilnius, then Riga, then Tallin and finally came to Helsinki, just for a couple of days.
Saraa is a very nice girl from Helsinki; she's not only friendly and careful, but also very patient and brave. She works with children is schools and is my Finnish tutor :)
We talked all together about our countries and compared languages, food, cultures and stereotypes.
We talked about what are in our opinion the good sides and the bad ones. We were wondering if Italy is actually an huge open-air museum, we realized that the idea that northern people are cold, is totally wrong.
I really had a great afternoon with them.

Today was Monday again, so lindyhop weekly meeting in the park. There I met a girl from my lindyhop class of Turin - (!) this is crazy - who's now in Helsinki for holidays.
While dancing you can talk. And that's nice because sometimes you meet some interesting people. Today I met some engineers, an Italian guy working in the University here, a guy from Helsinki who's going to fly soon to Reykjavík, Iceland for an year with an exchange program - a sort of Erasmus just for Scandinavian countries.
Since I am interested in knowing what people think looking at me for the first time, sometimes when they ask me where I am from, I ask them to guess. A Finnish guy today thought I was from east Russia.
It seems like Finnish language has many different words for the bear. I am going to find them all, without looking on the Internet. I promise.

Un bel picnic internazione al parco.
Abbiamo condiviso chiacchiere e buon cibo tra Polonia, Finlandia e Italia.

Lukasz è un gran viaggiatore: Helsinki è stata l'ultima tappa di un lungo viaggio, attraverso Vilnius, Riga, Tallin e infine la capitale finlandese.
Saara è una ragazza estremamente gentile e simpatica. Lavora coi bambini nelle scuole, è molto paziente ed è la mia tutor di finlandese :)
Abbiamo parlato tutti insieme dei nostri Paesi, paragonando lingue, cibi, culture e stereotipi.
Abbiamo espresso le nostre opinioni riguardo i lati positivi e negativi delle nostre nazioni. Ci siamo chiesti per esempio se l'Italia è davvero un enorme museo all'aria aperta e ci siamo resi conto che è totalmente errata l'idea comune di viaggiare nel nord Europa e trovare persone sempre più fredde.
E' stato un pomeriggio meraviglioso in loro compagnia.

Oggi, come ogni lunedì, c'era l'appuntamento di lindyhoppers al parco. Là ho trovato una ragazza che balla con me a Torino (pazzesco!) che è passata da Helsinki per le vacanze.
Mentre si balla, si può parlare. Così ho conosciuto altre persone interessanti, come per esempio alcuni ingegneri, un italiano che lavora nell'Università di Helsinki, un finlandese che sta per partire per l'Islanda con un programma di scambio simile all'Erasmus, ma specifico tra le nazioni scandinave.
Siccome poi sono sempre molto interessata a sapere quale impressione faccio sulle persone al primo sguardo, qualche volta, quando mi chiedono la mia provenienza, li sfido a indovinare. Oggi pensavano venissi dall'est della Russia.
Sembra che in finlandese ci siano molti modi diversi per nomiare l'orso.
Ho deciso che li scoprirò tutti e senza utilizzare Internet. Lo prometto.
