Helsinki Festival, 15.-31.8.2014
There're plenty of events all around the city, music, theatre, cinema, the Night of the Arts, on the 21st. We'll surely attend three nights of screenings, called movie picnic, Leffapiknik, where also shots will be shown, then videomapping events and some live music.
On the program we also found more info about the artist Tommi Toija. There's an exhibition of his works right now at the Amos Andersonin museum. His Bad Bad Boy, that we already met next to the Kauppatori, is more than 8 metres high, by the way.
Also the japanese artist who did the Manta hotel, Tatzu Nishi, is on the program, as he is coming to Helsinki for the first time.


Tomorrow we're finally go to Suomenlinna, the ex-fortress island of Helsinki, for a nice picnic. May the good weather forecast be with us!

Siamo nel bel mezzo dell' Helsinki Festival, 15.-31.8.2014
due settimane di eventi sparsi per tutta la città, che spaziano dal teatro, alla musica live, al cinema, ad esposizioni nelle mille gallerie della città.
Sicuramente non ci perderemo il Leffapiknik, una serie di tre proiezioni all'aperto, dove verranno presentati anche dei corti animati finlandesi, eventi di video mapping e musica open-air. Approfitteremo anche della Notte delle Arti, il 21 agosto, in cui è agevolato l'ingresso in vari musei.
Nel programma del festival abbiamo trovato il nostro amico Tommi Toija che espone in queste settimane. La sua opera colossale che abbiamo incontrato presso la piazza del mercato, Bad Bad Boy, è alta più di otto metri, per la cronaca. Sul programma appare anche l'artista giapponese, artefice della camera d'albergo attorno alla statua della Amanda, Tatzu Nishi, in visita per la prima volta in Finlandia.

Domani andremo finalmente nella famosa Suomenlinna, l'isolotto ex-fortezza della città di Helsinki, a fare un bel picnic in stile finlandese, sfidando questo cielo e le previsioni atmosferiche.
